A family ritual is a set of behaviors that is repeatable and symbolically meaningful. Family rituals provide families with a sense of identity and belonging.
Family rituals also provide a sense of continuity across generations. In other words, they are a way of transmitting family values, history, and culture from one generation to the next.
Another term for family rituals is family traditions.
For Malay, a baby’s head is typically shaved within several days. This ceremony is called as “Aqiqah”
In Islam, it is done to show that the child is a servant of Allah.
This is a celebration which involves the slaughter of sheep. Sheep are sacrificed and the meat is distributed to relatives and neighbours and given to the poor.
